Daily drawdown calculator
Work out the equity level where your daily loss limit is reached, how much room you have left today, and how much of the limit you have used. It runs in your browser and stores nothing.
- Stop-trading equity
- $9,500.00
- Room left
- $500.00
- Limit used
- 0%
5% of $10,000.00 is $500.00. Starting from a balance of $10,000.00, your daily limit is reached when equity falls to $9,500.00. Add your current equity to see how much room is left today.
How it works
A daily loss limit is measured from a starting point, usually your balance or equity at your daily reset time. A percentage limit is turned into money from that starting value. For example, 5% of $10,000 is $500, so the stop-trading equity level is $9,500.
If you enter your current equity, the calculator shows your loss so far, the room left before the stop level, and the share of the limit already used. Equity includes open trades, so a floating loss counts even before you close it.
Brokers and prop firms measure daily drawdown in different ways: from balance, from equity, or from the higher of the two, with different reset times. Check your firm's rules and enter the starting value they use. Read more in balance vs equity: how a daily loss limit is calculated and prop firm daily drawdown.
Leave a buffer
Closing orders fill at market prices, which can move past your number in fast markets. Many traders set their own limit below their firm's, so a late fill does not cause a breach. Enter your own, lower limit to see where you would stop.
Make the limit automatic
LossGuard watches your MT5 or cTrader account from our servers. When your daily loss limit is reached, it closes your positions, cancels pending orders and locks the day until your reset. 7-day free trial on your first account, no card required.
